Windows 7 Known Issues
Windows Media Player fails to recognize changes to the music library
Problem: Music added to or deleted from the library in Windows is not displayed in Media Center, or may be displayed on one Media Center but not another.
Solution: Reboot the machine to refresh the library. You may have to do this on every Media Center that does not display the changes.
Visit Microsoft’s Windows Media Sharing FAQ for more information about media sharing.
Random Media Center crashes/hangs
Problem: You may experience random occurrences of ehshell.exe crashing.
Solution: Typically, the application will restart on its own and correct the problem. In some cases you may have to reboot the Media Center PC.
When fast-forwarding or chapter skipping for an extended period, the picture may freeze or go black.
Problem: The picture freezes or goes black when fast-forwarding or chapter-skipping. You may experience this problem during DVD playback or Recorded TV playback. When this happens, the transport controls and Green button are still accessible and the time/seek bar presents and hides itself normally.
Solution: To return to normal functionality, stop the playback session and restart it. If this does not work, close and restart Media Center.
Homegroup-shared Recorded TV—delay in populating the recordings in the shared pivot
Problem: This issue can occur when sharing recorded TV content between Media Centers using a Homegroup. When you navigate to the “Shared” pivot under “Recorded TV,” content from other media centers in the Homegroup is not displayed. Typically, this will occur after rebooting your media center or the other media centers in the Homegroup.
Solution: Wait for the content to populate and/or restart Media Center.
Homegroup-shared Recorded TV—Program Details
Problem: This issue can occur when sharing recorded TV content between Media Centers using a Homegroup. When browsing recorded programs on another media center, the complete program information may not be displayed.
Solution: There is no workaround for this issue at this time.
Windows Media Center Photos Screensaver
Problem: The Windows Media Center photos screensaver exhibits a slight distortion around the white frames of the pictures. This is only noticeable when the pictures are moving around the screen. We’ve noticed some variance in the severity of this problem based on the graphics adapter, resolution, and monitor (TV).
Solution: There is no workaround for this issue at this time.
